On March 8, we had the honor and privilege to host 7 Food Bloggers from the Des Moines and Surrounding areas at our Chef’s Table including Sheryl from Eat, Play, Love Des Moines, Ally from Sweet and Savory Eats, Matt & Lissah from Iowa Food Blog, Kelli from The Sustainable Couple, Wini from All Things Food Des Moines and Chez Bonne Femme and Kristen from Iowa Girl Eats.
It was a pleasure to have a group that has such a passion for food and flavor not only for themselves but to also talk about it and educate others through their experience. It was fun to watch the enthusiasm for each dish, taking notes and pictures to capture the moment. There are links to a few of the blogs they had written. Please go to their websites and read about their experience.
Chef Chris Caes presented each course, explaining the preparation and answering questions. It is a distinct experience to have with friends and family.
What is our Chef’s table? Well, it is a beautiful Black Cherry Table that seats 10 guests. It is located on the back side of our lobby fireplace, next to a gorgeous painting and a view of our beautiful library. The table is open for reservations for a one time seating on Friday nights and one on Saturday nights. Reservations are for table must be for 10 guests, and made in advance. The party determines the start time of the dinner and controls the pace of the 5 course meal that Chef Chris Caes prepares. Chris designs and prepares this 5 course meal and suprises the guest with each plate/dish. Guest can give Chris direction ahead of time with input such as food allergies or menu direction. Otherwise, Chris will put his creative talents to work and to say the least “he has not disappointed any of the Chef’s Table Guests Yet!”
Interested in getting 10 of your friends together for a great night out on the town? Give me a shout out to check the availability. The great thing is that in addition to a great 5 course meal, a dedicated server, a beautiful table (&location) the cost is only $50 per person. Tax, tip and alcohol is not included.
