Room Description - View 360 Degree Tour
Just after the turn of the last century, immigrants from Italy began making their way to the United States, some of them to Iowa and to Perry. We can thank them for many things, most conspicuously their great cuisine. This room honors them.
The Italian room resembles that of an Italian villa with aged looking walls and antique drapery fabric that dates back to as early as 1910. A silk light fixture in the room was purchased in Venice by Tracie McCloskey and the iron bed in the room was custom designed. Also featured in the room are an antique mirror and a small console both from the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. Finally the room also contains special weavings from Assisi and some contemporary glass pieces by Carlo Moretti.
