Room Description - View 360 Degree Tour
In the 50s Nikita Khrushchev made a controversial visit to Iowa and rode through Perry on his way to Roswell Garst's farm in Carroll County. Today Iowa is a sister state to Stavropol.
The Russian Room is decorated like that of Old Russia. It has been modeled after the dacha, the Russian summerhouse from the early 1800s. The frieze around the room is painted with the Cyrillic Russian alphabet. The windows feature authentic Slavic shawls as window coverings. A Romanoff king bed in the room was hand painted and custom built and featuring some old pillows made from old vestaments. Finally on the north wall of the room you'll see a beautiful painting by Russian artist Oksana Sokolovskaya called "Babuska Knitting".
